Are You Tired of Living Without Purpose or Accountability?

Being Accountable By Choice Will Allow You To Live a Life of Purpose

Most people follow one of two paths in life. The first and most common one is the carefree life, one without accountability. Although I was a very responsible person, I had a fear of commitment which prevented me from being accountable to myself and others.

The other is a path of confusion, worry, and regret. It’s the path without purpose, without meaning, without direction, more like a confusing maze that makes your head spin and never leads to anywhere you want to go.

I know both these paths all too well because I followed them for the first thirty years of my life. I didn’t have a clue what I was meant for or to do in life. I was tossed like a wave in the ocean. My life was a series of random experiences with an emptiness in the middle. I always felt like I was getting ready to live, but could never figure out how to actually step into something more, or better because I didn’t hold myself accountable.

Have you ever been nagged at by someone you loved? It’s a horrible feeling, right? It’s toxic and destructive. It will slowly erode the foundation of any relationship. I was constantly being nagged by my wife and my natural response to her was, “stop your nagging already, will ya?”.

Let’s be honest, calling my wife a nag was nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to silence her rather than accept responsibility for my own inaction. Instead of changing my own behavior, I was trying to change hers by calling her a nag.

My relationship with my wife and others was rocky, to say the least. Little did I know at the time that her nagging was the result of poor communication, unclear expectations, and a lack of personal accountability on my part.

I was really struggling with this whole accountability thing, so much that I ended up getting really depressed. There were even talks about divorce, my whole world was about to come crashing down on me.

It's Time To Turn Things Around

Quite honestly, I was tired of being nagged at and not being taken seriously by people whom I loved and who loved me, due to my own lack of personal accountability.

I knew there had to be a better way and surely, I wasn’t the only one struggling with holding myself accountable. So, I dedicated myself to getting help. I found myself a life coach.

How much of your success would you say is up to you—your choices, your actions, your behaviors—versus outside conditions? Nothing in life can be carried out to the fullest without accountability! It is the one ingredient to your process that glues all the steps together in order to make a new you come to fruition. Once I realize this, I was on my way to a better me!

Not only did coaching help me, but it also inspired me to go back to school to get certified and licensed as a Life Coach Minister. My sole mission now is to help others to gain back control of their lives.
